With 35 years of experience under his belt, Raphael Tay helms the new addition at LAW Partnership
17 January 2022, Kuala Lumpur – LAW Partnership has officially launched its new Corporate, Commercial and M&A Practice Group on the evening of the 17th of January 2022. The Practice Group is spearheaded by Raphael Tay, a senior member of the Malaysian Bar who boasts extensive regional practice experience over the last three-and-a-half decades.
Raphael advises on various international projects including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, divestments, and general corporate and commercial work. His depth of knowledge and breadth of experience in regularly handling a comprehensive range of corporate and commercial matters as well as his involvement in advising on cross-border M&A and various international joint venture projects will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the Firm in its corporate and commercial law capabilities and service offerings.
Stephen Kitts, the Managing Partner (Asia) and Corporate M&A Partner at Eversheds Sutherland, congratulated LAW Partnership on the launch, a milestone for the Firm, and delivered an insightful presentation on Emerging Trends in M&A in the APAC Region.
The launch was followed by a panel discussion titled M&A Trends and Market Outlook for the Post-Pandemic Year, moderated by Raphael, between a panel of key industry leaders consisting of Group Legal Counsel of YTL Corporation Berhad Dato’ Kathleen Chew; Global Head – Private Equity of OCBC Bank Ltd. Daniel Kwan; and Executive Chairman of Jentayu Sustainables Berhad Datuk Hj. Beroz Nikmal Mirdin.
Malaysia’s fast-growing economy in the Southeast Asian region, relies heavily on a bedrock of sound corporate and commercial laws to facilitate innovation.
