Venecia Shares Her Experience As A Former Legal Intern At LAW Partnership 

My internship experience at LAW-Partnership was nothing short of eye-opening and worthwhile. Given my time at the firm, I was thrilled to learn under the partners who hold decades’ worth of experience and to be guided by the firm’s formidable associates. This internship has provided me the opportunity to put a lot of the theoretical legal knowledge into practice and understand its cross hairs and ultimately what I can expect at the end of the legal education rainbow. It was an achieving experience.

Naturally with the rotation between the different practice groups within the firm the nature of work I undertook varied widely. Coupled with having the opportunity to observe court hearings and live advocacy, the various tasks assigned, which ranged from extensive research to drafting court documents, I gained a more holistic perspective of the legal profession and most, or if not, all that it entails.

Furthermore, working in a firm where respect and fairness is emphasised made the whole internship experience here, pleasant and meaningful. The people in this firm are great colleagues to work with, from the support staff to the senior lawyers and partners, they are a strong testament to the nature of the firm itself.

Ultimately stepping into this internship made me realise there’s much more to consider than meeting law practice requirements. It requires: resilient; determination; passion; and, very truthfully, vicious hard work. Additionally, one needs to consider the need for making professional contacts and bonds in order to have greater firm exposure which is no easy feat. With all the challenges I have overcome and the learning experiences I have gained, I can only say that this a particularly salient experience I place value on.
