Announcement: Passing of Ameet Kaur Purba

It is with great sadness that LAW Partnership informs you of the passing of our Partner, Ameet Kaur Purba, yesterday evening.

Ameet joined the firm in May 2020 and contributed significantly to the expansion of the firm’s intellectual property (IP) capabilities with her experience of over 20 years. The culmination of Ameet’s robust experience in handling her clients’ portfolios on an international scale and her far-reaching work catalysed the elevation of the firm’s IP practice group to greater heights.

As some of you may be aware, Ameet was battling cancer for some time. Despite that, she fought audaciously until the end. She was recently named an IP Expert in Asia IP 2022 awards and most notably, as one of WIPR’s Influential Women in IP in the WIPR Diversity Class of 2021 awards by the prestigious World International Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) publication.

Ameet persevered and met everyone with her optimism and cheery disposition, despite her ill health and battles. Ameet’s strength and high spirits are to be admired. Ameet will be deeply missed by all of us at LAW Partnership.
